About Jackie and Her Jams...
"I grew up in a large Eastern European family living in a mid-sized city in Upstate New York. Even though we were living in a city, my parents managed to maximize the use of their yard to grow and harvest vegetables, berries and other fruit. I grew up canning fruits and vegetables with my mother to help sustain us over those winter months. I fondly remember those days in the kitchen with her where my passion for the infinite uses of fruit began. I moved on to a 37 year career with a Fortune 500 company but always stayed close to mom. In her retirement, she began to ask me to help tend her garden and make better use of her summer fruit.
After experimenting more with canning, pie fillings and fruit breads, I decided to give jams and jellies a try. After overcoming a bit of a learning curve in my quest to make the perfect raspberry jam (so my mom's bushes would not go to waste), I realized that there was a whole host of consumers out there who enjoy eating jam as much as I enjoy making it. In time, I expanded my flavors but always kept the focus on small batch, local and made from scratch jams and jellies. I have a passion in the kitchen for experimentation and creating new and unique flavors that resonate with a discerning customer. In addition, I have created a number of recipes to extend the uses of my jams and jellies beyond just that ordinary breakfast food. They say "food is love" so most of all, I delight in the pleasantly surprised responses from my customers as they taste my flavor combinations.
